After four long years of hard and arduous study, Carolyn has finally graduated from vet school! She’s officially a veterinarian and completely qualified to do all sorts of veterinary things, like express a dog’s anal glands or look in a cow’s mouth for wooden tongue and get covered in snot. What a glamorous profession!
Needless to say, I’m more proud of her than a rooster is of his 5:00 a.m. crowing session. She worked diligently through a plethora of tests, quizzes, projects, clinical rotations and crabby patients to get to this crowning moment. She deserves those three little letters (D.V.M.) and that square hat.
In addition to becoming a genuine Cow Doc, she gets the added benefit of moving back to South Dakota where we can live with each other for the first time in almost two years! It will be a bit of an adjustment not having to spend hours on the phone just to say “hi”, but having our spouse next to us at night. I’ve got a feeling we’ll get used to it pretty darn quick.
On another note, like most graduates, Carolyn received a few graduation presents. The most peculiar one, albeit the most fun as well, came from her Uncle Mike and Aunt Eileen. I can’t say I’ve seen anything quite like it before.
So, now that Dr. Carolyn has a sweet alpaca puppet, she needs a name for it (Because Grandma Mary wants it to have a name, and suggested a competition). So here’s the challenge, can we get some suggestions for a name for the alpaca puppet? Send them to us or post them in the comment section below, and we’ll have a vote to decide what the name will be. Thanks!
